Hawai'i All State Marching Band


Na Koa Ali'i - Hawaii All State Marching Band receives invitation to 2021 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC! Unfortunately the tour was postponed due to Covid.

The group would have made their fourth appearance at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on November 25. 2021 - past performances were in 2016, 2011 and 2005. They were one of 11 marching bands that was selected from over 200 applications and have been the largest marching band in the history of the parade. Other past performances include appearances in the Pasadena Tournament of Roses parade in 2019, 2014, 2009 and 2003.

The Managing Director is John Riggle, Director Emeritus of both Kailua High School and Kamehameha Schools Kapalama Campus. He was instrumental in the formation and organization of the Na Koa Ali'i - Hawai'i All State Marching Band since 2002.

Band directors and teachers are invited to select members from their school to participate in this unique opportunity. All members must be in good standing in their school's performing arts programs.

Note: Given that not all directors are aware of the opportunity to nominate, students are also given the opportunity to self-nominate and apply. Students who wish to self-nominate must provide recommendation by teacher or principal as part of their application submission and must be in good standing in their school programs.
